In 2009, introductions included Melisa's sister Karissa, three of Kaida's school chums (Marlo, Demi and Stassia), and Jeremiah's new friend Ben, along with his mother, Jacie. More is revealed about Asher's past and his involvement with the theater, and his romance with Kohana deepens. An unlikely friendship is forged from a chance meeting and recollection of a long-ago misunderstanding, and Lucy finds a reason to re-think her career options.
