So, What Did You Think?

Kaida: Pssst - Hey big guy!
Asher: Oh, Hi Shortstuff, what’s up?
Kaida: Not much, except I was hoping you’d be around today ‘cuz I have another stupid audition.

Asher: Well good luck to you, I’ll be around, I guess. The techies have a bit of a problem so I need to make sure they solve it, and solve it right this time.
Kaida: So um….what did you think?
Asher: About what? Your audition? Pretty sure I told you already.

Kaida: No, silly, my SISTER!
Asher: Oh. Yeah. Hey, I didn’t know it mattered, what I thought…why would it?
Kaida: Um…err… no…well I…guess it doesn’t …but…Oh, Sheeeeesh. Of course it matters! It matters to ME!

Asher: (laughing) Had you there didn’t I? You thought maybe I didn’t know what you were up to? I can recognize a setup a mile away, Kaida.
Kaida: Well then?
Asher: Well what?
Kaida: Arrrrrrrgh! You KNOW what!

Asher: Hmmmm, I think I’ll keep my thoughts to myself, kiddo. But it probably doesn’t matter anyway, what I think.
Kaida: Why would you say that?
Asher: Because I don’t think your sister thinks much of ME. Aside from being a little too perfectly polite, she seemed quite annoyed about me being there.

Kaida: (glumly) Yeah - I guess my fantastic plan flopped huh? Oh DARN. Didn’t mean to let on to YOU, either. Sheeeeesh. Me and my big mouth!
Asher: Listen, since I think you are just trying to do something nice for your sister, and that you care about her a lot, it’s okay - but maybe she would prefer to run her own life, you think?

Kaida: It’s just that she kind of keeps to herself all the time, you know? She won’t even consider going out and meeting anybody, she just stays home and studies and goes to classes. I bet it’s the same at school, too. Bet she sits alone in the stupid library and stuff….
Asher: You need to let her do what’s right for HER, Kaida. You can’t assume she would be happy doing what you would do. You two are very different – that much I could tell just by seeing you together for a few minutes. Does she seem unhappy, keeping to herself?
Kaida: Well, no, but I just know she would be happier if she’d only…Arrrrgh…. Maybe I WAS matchmaking, a little. Sorry, Asher. Are you mad at me?
Asher: Nah, of course I’m not. Your heart’s in the right place, after all – you just need to tone down the ah…. enthusiasm for meddling a little. Save your energy for your big career in acting, maybe.

Kaida: Hey whatcha doing there anyway?
Asher: Programming lighting sequences into the computer. This theater’s small, but it can benefit from the use of some more technology, I think.
Kaida: Cool. Hey, could I work with you guys if I don’t get a part? Today’s audition is my very last chance…

Asher: We’ll talk later if you don’t get a part. I think you will though, even though it might not be much of a speaking part. How’s the ankle anyway? You need another ride today?
Kaida: No, Kohana’s coming by for me. Thanks anyway. Hey! Maybe when she shows up here you can…. Aw, never mind. Heh heh heh, just can’t seem to help it!
