Last Week I Was a Pirate...
Originally posted on September 23, 2007
September 19th was Talk Like A Pirate Day, and many of us celebrated by dressing our characters as pirates and interacting in pirate-esque lingo. About a week later Kaida talked me into helping her produce this little follow-up story for Kenzo. Any excuse to play dress-up and get away with it., right Kaida?

Last week I was a pirate ….and sailed the seas in search of treasure….

….employing neither map nor compass, for I knew what I sought would not be found buried on a fog–enshrouded island or lying hidden in the depths of the sea….

I had only to follow my heart, in seeking the one whose presence I treasure above rare jewels, whose regard I hold more precious than the purest gold.

My bold buccaneer, where have you gone? For again I seek you.....

Though returned to the place where I now must abide, ‘tis home in name only…and not the place I most desire to be.

I am captive here, to the unfulfilled wishes of my heart.

There is only one who can rescue me from my prison of loneliness.

Kaida would like her audience to know that “her” Kenzo is not a neglectful boyfriend; she was merely acting her part for the sake of tonight’s drama. She also hopes that you have enjoyed her little one-act play, and most sincerely hopes that Dolores doesn’t notice the empty spot on the costume rack before she can get the gown put back.
