Kaida: Uh-oh. Busted.
Asher: Quiet, Kaida. Um…. take the guys on a quick tour, ok? I’ll catch up to you in a few.
Eli: No way! I don’t want to miss thi….
Asher: Get lost now or you will be sleeping in the street.
Eli: Ok, Ok, going. (to Kaida) Lead on, oh Vertically-Challenged One.
Kohana: Asher, it seems I’m owed an explanation - or three. I’d suggest you start now.
Asher: (brightly) Hi Sweetie – have a productive day at the campus library? Sure was a long one today.
Kohana: Not long enough, apparently. Explanation, Asher. Just what were you doing with your arms around my sister?
Asher: It wasn’t what it looked like, honest. The twins showed up today without warning and said they are planning on moving in with me and they were giving me a hard time like they always do and they had this bet that I have a girlfriend and they were hounding me about it and then Eli started in on Kaida and she thought it would be fun to play them a bit and pretend that we were together and so I went along with it and….
Asher: ……..don’t hit me.
Kohana: Is that all you have to say for yourself?
Asher: Well, yeah, that’s it, unless you want to give me time to make up something better. I know it’s pretty unbelievable but….
Kohana: It most definitely is. Unbelievable, I mean. You disappoint me, Asher.
Asher: Really, it’s the truth, it just sounds….…..lame…
Kohana: Oh, I believe your explanation.
Asher: You do?
Kohana: Of course I do. Kaida has a knack for getting herself into things like this – I’ve seen it happen a lot.
Asher: Then… you’re not mad at me? Why did you say you were disappointed?
Kohana: I’m just so terribly disappointed…(sighs)
Kohana: ..… that you would actually….seriously……. believe I’m really angry with you. You’re way past gullible on this one, Asher.
Asher: Arrrrgh, you’re conning me? You’re not allowed to do that! I’m the one that gets to do all the teasing…. Get over here, woman!
Kohana: Now come on, I really want to meet your brothers.
Asher: Um…hang on a sec, will you?
Kohana: What now?
Asher: You should probably fix…. there, that’s better. Wouldn’t want to advertise what we’ve been doing, not around the guys anyway. I’ve had about all the ribbing I can take for one day.
Kohana: Poor baby. Not used to the hot seat are you?
Asher: Not at all. But I’m grateful you’re not really mad at me.
Kohana: Oh….? How grateful?
Asher: Pathetically (kiss),…… totally (kiss)….
Asher: …absolutely (kiss),……… irreversibly (kiss),…….. grateful….
Asher: Guess we better go find them before they find us, huh?
