Asher: You WHAT??? Oh no, you’re not. I don’t have room for you two…. and Eli – you’re such a slob. Forget it.
Eli: Sure there’s room. You told me you had two bedrooms - Eron can have the couch.
Eron: Hey! I never agreed….
Eli: Sure ya did. Result of that last bet you lost. Doesn’t matter anyway, we’re only staying a little while: three, four months tops.
Asher: Three months? I told you, I don’t….
Eli: Mind a bit? Gee, thanks Big Bro!
Asher: That’s not what I said and you know it…
Eli: So now that that’s out of the way, spill your news, Bro. What’s so important you didn’t make it at Christmas? What could possibly have come up that you couldn’t spare the time to see your last remaining blood kin who missed you and cried in their beer for the whole holiday….?
Eron: I told him you had to have met someone. Only thing I know that would have kept you busy enough to skip out on us. He bet me you didn’t. So….what is it? Finally got a new girl?
Kaida: (giggling) Oh, this is getting good.
Asher: Shhhh, Kaida…. No way am I settling this bet for you two until you explain about the moving in thing. I know I said you were welcome to visit, but that was months ago, and I never said you could stay. Why aren’t you getting your own place, anyway? If you’re moving here?
Eron: Yeah well our timing got a little messed up. We rented out Grandma’s house and found something here, but there were delays and the new place isn’t ready yet.
Eli: And our cash is all tied up in it, so we have to play poor relations and come begging at your door. It’s just for a little while.
Eron: A few weeks, max.
Asher: Aw cripes, you guys. I really don’t have enough room. But I guess since I’m not home much you could crash for a while. Maybe I can stay upstairs at the theater some of the time, but if I have to do that, you’re going to clean the space out for me. And keep my place picked up.
Eli: Deal. Eron will do it. He’s become a regular Susie Homemaker lately.
Eron: Nope – never agreed on that as part of any bet. I’ll sleep at my shop and you can sleep in the street.
Kaida: Better and better…..
Asher: However you work it out, you are not leaving my place a mess. I can’t stay at the theater 24-7. And I’m not putting up with your bickering when I’m home, either. Guy’s gotta have some peace and quiet in his life. Some place private to….
Eron: Aha! There is a girlfriend, isn’t there?
Asher: (sheepishly) Yeah, there is…….Kaida here has….
Eli: The munchkin? Come on Asher, isn’t she a little uhhh….young for you? Robbing the cradle now?
Kaida: No! I may be young but I’m all the woman he needs! Aren’t I, darling? (winks and says under her breath to Asher) Work with me here – this could be fun.
Asher: Errrr, yeah, yeah, she’s the one for me all right. Me and Kaida here….what we have is real special and….
Kohana: You and Kaida what, Asher?
