I'd Really Love To See You Tonight

Asher: You know how I wanted to go out tonight?
Kohana: I thought you said you had auditions.
Asher: I do. But I still want to see you.
Kohana: Well, I’d like that too, but after the auditions is just too late to go out, isn’t it?
Asher: Usually, yeah. Man, I wish…. Hey I have an idea.
Kohana: Yes?
Asher: Maybe I could just bring over a movie. And if we get hungry…you could cook.
Kohana: What? Why would I need to cook? Have you injured your finger?
Asher: My finger? No…I…..
Kohana: Doesn’t matter, you can use my favorite recipe. Three steps to a delicious meal. First... decide what you want to eat. Second, wash hands thoroughly and assemble all necessary equipment. And finally…. Press the appropriate buttons on the phone and order takeout. Easiest recipe in the world.
Asher: Kohana! I am really shocked! Is that what you usually do?
Kohana: Only sometimes. I usually have a quick salad or sandwich before hitting the stacks at the campus library.
Asher: We need to talk about that. It’s not good for you to spend so much time … cooped up indoors… yeah that’s it. You need fresh air, or at least a change of scenery….
Kohana: Oh, and sitting in the living room watching TV is a change of scenery?
Asher: Yep, you know a good movie can take you just about anywhere. And I can be a great travel companion.
Kohana: And endearingly humble about it too. How could I resist such a tempting offer?
Asher: You can’t….. So say yes.
Kohana: Ok, yes. Now about that injury to your dialing finger, would you like me to take a look at it?
Asher: Yeah, but I think it’s going to require a long consultation and lots of treatment…..later tonight.
