You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them. ~Desmond Tutu

Mr. Tomaszewski: *from behind the camera* Yep, this is going to be a lot cheaper than going to a studio. We might just have to try this every time your mother wants a new picture of you kids.
Zenny: You have to hurry, Dad! I got game warm-ups in half an hour. Coach’ll kill me if I’m late!

Pete: And I have to get to work. OW! Stop that!
Mr. Tomaszewski: Who me? I tell you kids, this new digital camera is gonna save us a bundle. Should pay for itself in less than a year……hold on….just have to see if I can get everybody in….

Mr. Tomaszewski: Nope, that’s not right.
Pete: OWWWW! STEVIE! Stop pulling my hair! Come on, cut your favorite Big Cousin a break, willya, kiddo?
Lucy: Dad, you know you only get Zenny and Pete’s full attention for milliseconds at a time. You’ll need to speed it up.

Mr. Tomaszewski: Almost got it.
Lucy: Zenny, stop fidgeting.
Zenny: Can’t help it, I got places to go, people to see, the Midtown Giants to beat….

Mr. Tomaszewski: Damnation! Cheapass tripod! There’s that leg collapsing again!
Stevie: DAMN Nathan!
Michaela: *giggles*

Zenny: *sweetly* Shall we call and reserve your burial plot now, Dearest Father?
Mr. Tomaszewski: Zenobia Marie , I have no idea what you’re talking about!
Zenny: For when our Dear Darling Mother kills you dead for teaching Stevie to swear.

Stevie: Kill you dead! Bang! Pow!
Pete: Geeez, Dad, couldn’t you have read the manual before we started posing for you? OW! Stevie!!!!

Mr. Tomaszewski: There! All set! Everyone say cheese!
Stevie: TREES!!!!!
Lucy: *through gritted teeth* Remind me after we’re through and I’ll get you the phone number of the studio again.

The New and Improved (?) Family Tomaszewski
2008 Children’s Portrait
The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck
