I Love You To Pieces

Kaida: So, you want me to visit you this summer?
Kenzo: Sure, why not?
Kaida: I bet it’s awfully hot there in Vegas.

Kenzo: So we just don’t run as hard when we play soccer in summer – who cares? But we have this little invention there ya know? Called “air conditioning?”
Kaida: Visiting would be really “cool” then! (Kenzo groans) I want to meet everybody!

Kenzo: (thinking: maybe only if some of them are out of town) Uh, yeah… that would be good too. They’ll all like you.
Kaida: I really would love to visit…..Now come on, you promised to show me that piece you’re composing–

Kenzo: OW!

Kaida: Oh no! Not again! I’m sorry, I’m sorry….
Kenzo: It’s okay, I’ll just….

Kaida: Oh Kenzo, I’ve hurt you AGAIN. I’m so sorry……
Kenzo: Uh, I think I’ll just let your sister practice medicine a few years early again. Wait here – I’ll be right back.

Kaida: I’m so sorry. You keep getting hurt – just from being around me. I can’t stand it. Maybe I should just let you go home where you’ll be safer.
Kenzo: No! It’s ok, just a little bump on the noggin. Kohana says it’s high enough up, I might not even get a black eye or anything.
Kaida: Might not get a black eye!?!? Oh, Kenzo……

Kenzo: Hey – you’re not… crying? Are you?
Kaida: Nope not me. Why would I? I’m a walking, talking, disaster area. I don’t mean to, but I can’t seem to stop hurting you. First your hand, now your poor head.
Kenzo: Awwww, don't cry, Kaida -- my FEET didn't get hurt -- I can still play soccer!

Kaida: Maybe, until I start playing alongside you. They’ll have to take you away in the back of an ambulance or something. I better keep my distance for the rest of your visit.
Kenzo: Like I’m going to let you do that!
Kaida: But what about your poor head….?
Kenzo: Wanna kiss it and make it better?

Kaida: No, I better not come anywhere near you. I might put out your eye next.
Kenzo: I’ll be careful. Maybe find some safety goggles or something.
Kaida: Oh reeeeeeal funny.
Kenzo: C’mere. Really. I miss you.
Kaida: Well, okay, but you’re taking a pretty big risk.

Kenzo: I don’t want to go home. I’m trying not to think about it.

Kaida: I know. It’s not going to be any fun around here once you’re gone again. And I might never learn how to play soccer now. I was hoping it would be something more I could share with you, an interest we could have in common.
Kenzo: You would be good at it I bet. You have lots of ahhh….. energy… for running.
Kaida: Not to mention what a good defender I would be.

Kenzo: Defender? Why?
Kaida: No one would get past me unscathed. Look what’s happened to you and I’m playing on your side!
