Pencil Me In

Asher: What can I say …I’m really sorry. You have no idea how sorry I am.

Kohana: I’m…..it’s….
Asher: Geez, I even made you cry. Damn, why didn’t I just listen to you? Maybe I don’t deserve it, but will you forgive me?

Kohana: I know you were….just…. concerned about me.
Asher: Yeah I was, but I was being selfish too. All I could see was no time with you. That was so not going to work for me.

Kohana: Me either. I knew I had to do something. I……look forward to spending time with you. Lately it’s what I enjoy most.
Asher: Then you’ll have to forgive me. So we can continue what you enjoy most.
Kohana: Of course I forgive you. Did…Kaida explain then? About what I did with my class schedule?

Asher: Yeah. She also said… that you’d never, ever re-arranged it before, for anyone. I’m so touched that you did that, for me. Guess I really didn’t deserve it, but I’m touched all the same.
Kohana: (smiling) I can put it back the way it was if you’d like, so you get what you deserve.
Asher: Don’t you dare. It was a generous present from someone very special to me; don’t you dare fool with it.
Kohana: Oh, a present! I almost forgot!

Asher: What?
Kohana: I brought you something, just a little gift – I almost forgot I had it. Here….
Asher: A Daytimer? What for? My schedule is pretty basic and I sure don’t need reminders to set aside time to spend time with you…

Kohana: No, silly, look. It’s a copy of my schedule. See all those big blank spaces?
Asher: Yeah, so?
Kohana: I was going to pencil you in there.
Asher: Were going to? But not anymore?

Kohana: No, not anymore.
Asher: Ah, I see. I really did hurt you, didn’t I?
Kohana: No, Asher, I meant what I said. All is forgiven. I’m not penciling you in anymore…

Kohana: … because I’m going to use this instead. Indelible ink.
Asher: Permanent?
Kohana: Yes, permanent. Non-erasable. Non-negotiable.
