Part Two: Do You Hear What I Hear?
Continued from "Christmas Spirit" ... During the afternoon, on the day of the party:

Kohana: Don’t you look dapper? Or at least you will, once you straighten your tie.
Asher: I was hoping you would do that for me. I just wish I was wearing this thing for a night spent in your company – and only yours - but such is not to be.

Kohana: I think it’s incredibly sweet, what you are doing for Kaida and her friends. Do you think they have any idea?
Asher: I’m sure they don’t. I told Jeremiah if Kaida “accidentally” found out, someone would be in deep ….er….. trouble. And I can’t see Pete spreading the word. But he will be here a little later to act as deejay.

Kohana: As will I, only I shall be slaving away in the kitchen to serve your late night repast.
Asher: You know I’ll help; as soon as they tire of dancing. But without me, they’d end up short one dance partner.

Kohana: How on earth did you get the others to agree to this? I daresay most young men would prefer to spend their Saturday evenings doing something else.
Asher: They were happy to do their part for the cause. They were touched by the girls’ sacrifice in giving up their Saturday night to wrap presents for children in need…..

*Kohana arches a brow in disbelief*
Asher: Okay, okay, I bribed them. And I might have mentioned that I heard Kaida’s friends were some of the prettiest ladies around.
Kohana: And are they? Should I be worried that you will be leaving me here while you join their party?
Asher: No, you absolutely should not worry. I actually have no idea what they look like, but no matter what, they can’t compare to you….. You know I’d rather stay back here and help you, even if it means slaving away over a hot stove….

Kohana: *laughs lightly* Very good answer……but you are not spending your evening in here. Really, Asher, all there is to do is to keep the hot things hot and the cold things cold....*smiles*

Kohana: ….But do save the last dance for me, my Darling.
Asher: I will. Though I’ll be asking Pete to drive the girls home, so we won’t have any music.
Kohana: Oh, there will be music…. it’s always there…. whenever you hold me in your arms.

Kohana: There it is now….. do you hear what I hear?
To be continued….
