I rarely get emails after I post a story, but the one where Kohana’s message remained undisclosed was quite the exception. Readers did not enjoy being left in the dark that way. Hopefully this story has cleared up any mystery…
Kaida: (humming)
Kaida: Whoooopsie.
Kaida: Hmmmm, what’s that?
Kaida: Oh cool! Aneko!
Kohana: Yes, Kaida?
Kaida: Does this mean what I think it means?
Kohana: Oh yes, I wondered where I dropped that. Thank you for finding it.
Kaida: Oh no you don’t! Tell me about it – does it mean what I think?
Kohana: It means only what it says, Kaida.
Kaida: You’re taking the whole summer off?
Kohana: Yes, I decided it’s time for a break from my schoolwor….
Kaida: Whoa……Hold up - who are you and what have you done with my sister?
Kohana: I know – pretty strange behavior for me, isn’t it?
Kaida: That’s a major understatement. What brought this on, anyway? You feeling the need to be a slacker all of a sudden?
Kohana: Hardly.
Kaida: Then what?
Kohana: I have to say that I blame you for it, Kaida. If it wasn’t for your incessant meddling I wouldn’t be in this position, having to make this choice. I’m afraid it’s entirely your fault.
Kaida: Oh, no, you’re not gonna lay this on me – This had to be your deci……wait! You mean……?
Kohana: I mean, sister dear, that this is my funny way of thanking you for meddling in my love life. I know I didn’t appear to appreciate it at the time, but I certainly do now. And I believe in giving credit where it is due.
Kaida: Well…. great! So what are you going to do all summer? Just sit around smooching and stuff?
Kohana: No, as a matter of fact, I have a few…. plans….. one of which would be easier to arrange if I had your cooperation.
Kaida: Oh cool, what? What do you need from the incessant meddler?
Kohana: Well, since you’re so good at operating in secret, this is what I want you to do….. (whispers in her ear)……..which will allow me to…………(more whispering)…….
