Kaida: Thanks for the demo, Pete! Hey, have you emailed Persephone lately?
Pete: No, why?
Kaida: Not gonna say, but you need to email her. Trust me.

Pete: Ma’am, yes Ma’am, I’ll email right away, Ma’am!
Kaida: Smart aleck.

(Pete leaves)

Jeremiah: So you and Pete, you’re not together?
Kaida: Me with Pete? Nah, no way. We’d be at each other’s throats in less than a week.
Jeremiah: He seems pretty laid back to me.
Kaida: He is, which is why I’d drive him crazy. Don’t get me wrong – I like Pete, but we’re just not “for” each other, you know? Besides, when I met him I already had…

Gideon: Hey, Baby Brother.
Jeremiah: Now what?
Gideon: Guess who’s getting an all-expenses paid vacation in the mountains?
Jeremiah: You sucker some sugar mama already?
Gideon: Such a smart-ass. See what I have to put up with, Kaida? This time it’s you who gets the vacation, Jermy.

Jeremiah: What’re you talking about?
Gideon: When I head back to New York, you’re staying here. Just think; you’ll have plenty of time to get to know your new family. Become better acquainted with your long lost brothers and learn to appreciate nature in the Wild and Wonderful. Won’t that be fun?
Jeremiah: No wonder you packed so many bags. You damn well better have tossed my laptop in the trunk.

Kaida: So he just left you here and took off?
Jeremiah: Sure looks like it.
Kaida: You don’t mind?

Jeremiah: Doesn’t matter if I mind, but it’s no biggie. I’m kinda used to it.
Kaida: Wow, I don’t mean to stick my nose in your business - but where is your Mom?
Jeremiah: Not sure. Somewhere in Europe with her latest boy-toy, I guess.
Kaida: Yikes, I’m so sorry. Guess I should have kept my big mouth closed after all.

Jeremiah: Eh, don’t worry about it. Like I said, I’m used to it. Most times it’s no big thing – it’s only school vacations that are shi….crummy. I don’t see much of Gid and that’s just fine with me. Rest of the time I’m away at school and there are all kinds of people to hang with…. if I’m so inclined.
Kaida: Why do I get the feeling you’re not often “so inclined?”
Jeremiah: Rather hang with my computer. Never lets me down like people do.

Jeremiah: People really suck.
