Dear Ms. Beamlette: A Note From Kohana

Originally posted on April 8, 2007

Could you do a favor for me? I was most dismayed to learn that your little ones apparently think they have reason to be afraid of me. I think perhaps Buddha Girl may have misunderstood something I said while I was watching the three of them at the Convention last September.

They are a little rambunctious sometimes (as I am sure you know better than I,) and I was terribly concerned for their welfare.

When Shelly’s girl Sascha joined us I believe Buddha Girl saw an opportunity to make a new friend, and was perhaps a bit over-enthusiastic in approaching her…

I took my supervisory responsibilities duties seriously as I do most everything, and I became concerned for her safety due to the precariousness of her perch…

So we had a little talk, she and I. I might have gotten a little carried away concerning the principles of physics vis a vis falling from such a height and how both trajectory and momentum could combine to cause serious injury.

She settled down nicely after that. I thought she saw the logic in my lecture. Perhaps I came on too strong, though - I wanted her to be cautious, not frightened.

Please assure Buddha Girl for me that I really do like and respect her. I hold great affection for all three of the little ones and admire them for their strong sisterly loyalties. At least that is something we have in common.

And if they should need any “doctoring” due to their Easter excesses, I would be most happy to make a house call. Although a little ginger ale might be more to their liking…..

Happy Easter!

Sincerely,
Kohana in WV
