Heart Doctor

Kohana: So you’ll be gone for two days?
Asher: Yeah, it’s important, or I wouldn’t go.
Kohana: I understand. I would offer to go along, but there’s school to consider.
Asher: How’s school going this semester?

Kohana: It’s going very well. I’m in the home stretch now. Less than two semesters until graduation and my first degree.
Asher: Yeah, less than a year until you get to start all over again.
Kohana: I don’t look at it like that. To me it’s another step toward realizing my dream. In fact, I have an important interview tomorrow - a meeting with several of the faculty, my advisor, and the dean.

Asher: Really? What about?
Kohana: It’s time to seriously consider how I will specialize. This will be the first of a series of interviews.
Asher: Have you narrowed it down any further since we talked about it before?
Kohana: A little. But for every choice I eliminate I seem to add another. All it took was a lecture by a visiting cardiologist to get me thinking in that direction.

Asher: A heart doc, huh? I think you should get real serious about that one. Yeah, that could be good.
Kohana: What makes you say that?

Asher: I’d trust my heart to you any day. In fact, I already have.

Asher: And so far you’ve taken real good care of it.

Asher: What it would take for you to promise me…..

Asher: …that you always will?

Kohana: A simple request would be enough – along with a promise of your own.

Asher: And what promise would that be?

Kohana: That you will always take care of mine.
