Kohana: Hi.
Asher: Oh hi! What are you doing here? Errr….No, cancel that – that didn’t come out right.
Kohana: (smiling) Oh, I understood what you meant. I’m just dropping off Kaida for her rehearsal. But I came in because I wanted to….um… thank you again…. for… you know. Last week?
Asher: I’d tease you about being tongue-tied right now, but I guess I’m suffering from it too. This is a theater – do we get a second take?
Kohana: Ok let’s try it again….
Kohana: Hi.
Asher: Hi there! Hey, aren’t you shorter today?
Kohana: Shorter? Today?
Asher: Yeah I could have sworn you were taller last time I looked.
Kohana: Oh, I just wore flat shoes. I’ve learned my lesson about wearing anything with a heel around here. That must be why I look shorter.
Asher: Awwww, you mean I won’t have you falling all over me this time?
Kohana: Hopefully not – I don’t make a habit of embarrassing myself on purpose.
Asher: Not even so I can catch you, hmmm? Drat. Hey, can I ask a favor?
Kohana: I must owe you several favors by now, so sure, ask away.
Asher: I’d like you to read this, tell me what you think.
Kohana: What is it? A script?
Asher: Yeah, they’re thinking of producing it here next season. I just want to hear what you think, since you’re the only person I know around here that isn’t a theater regular. And Kohana?
Kohana: Yes?
Asher: I don’t want you to make up some sugar-coated commentary if you don’t like it – just tell me exactly what you think, not what you think I want to hear, ok?
Kohana: Oh, you can be sure I will do that. I have no problem saying what I think. In fact, you could argue that I do entirely too much of that.
Asher: (to himself) But that’s one of the things I like best about you. Now the only problem is finding all the right things to ask….
