Asher: Hey Kaida, what are you still doing out here?
Kaida: Waiting for Kohana. She was supposed to pick me up almost an hour ago.
Asher: She usually on time?
Kaida: Yeah, so I’m getting a little worried. She’s not just on time – she’s like punctual to the minute.
Asher: You know where she was? Maybe she just got tied up, forgot the time.
Kaida: She was at school, I think. But she would have called. I gave her the number here, for emergencies, and I know she has your cell number, too.
Asher: Yeah that’s right, she does. Which means I have hers – let me try her cell phone…. …………….nope, just her voice mail. Hmmm…
Kaida: Wonder if it was me – wonder if I messed up her schedule or something…let me go get it so I can look.
Kohana: Oh, Asher! I’m so sorry – I’m really, really late … Where is Kaida?
Asher: She just went backstage to double check her schedule – thought she might have given you the wrong time or something.
Kohana: No, it was my fault. Well, sort of my fault – there was an accident on the interstate…
Asher: (worriedly) But you’re ok? You’re not hurt or anything?
Kohana: No, just stuck in traffic for a really long time. I don’t think anyone was hurt, just a huge pileup that took forever to clear away. And something is wrong with my cell phone. I know I charged it, but it won’t switch on. What a time for it to quit on me!
Asher: Well let’s go get Kaida. She’ll be relieved that you’re here and that you’re ok.
Asher: Hey, you might want to watch out for the………
Asher: …cables…..
Asher: Whoa there. Got to be on the lookout back here.
Kohana: This is so embarrassing! I’m not usually clumsy….
Asher: No? So maybe it wasn’t clumsiness this time either.
Kohana: What do you mean?
Asher: Wouldn’t be the first time a beautiful lady has fallen for me!
Kohana: Asher, don’t be ridicu……….oh, you’re teasing me,…. I hope?
Asher: Yeah, just teasing. You catch on quick, kid.
Kaida: Kohana! You’re okay! Um… you want to stay and visit for a while or anything?
Kohana: No, we need to get going.
Kohana: Asher, thank you for waiting with Kaida. And for… keeping me from....ah…. falling. I appreciate it.
Asher: No problem – and you can fall for me….. anytime. ‘Night ladies. I’ll lock up after you leave.
