With Eyes Closed (Conclusion)

Gideon: You’re off the hook. No one scheduled security, so they’re locking up early.
Andrea: So no coaching tonight?
Gideon: No coaching.

Andrea: Are you sure? I don’t want to be accused of shirking again.
Gideon: No one’s accusing you of shirking; you do show up, after all. Although it would be helpful if you’d put in some real effort when you do.

Andrea: That’s unfair!
Gideon: You think so? Too bad.
Andrea: I’m here as often and as long as you require, even when I don’t see the need for it. My old coach said an hour a day would be sufficient, but you insist on two or three. My old coach…
Gideon: …Isn’t available. And I can’t see that your training with him did any good, anyway.

Gideon: I guess I put too much faith in what you said at the start. You said you really wanted this. You said you’d be able to handle the long hours and hard work. You said you wanted to learn.
Andrea: I’m working just as hard as you!

Gideon: Are you? Then why aren’t you improving? Your performance today was an embarrassment.
Andrea: So that’s what this is really about, isn’t it? Your abilities as a drama coach were called into question. I committed an unpardonable sin by making you look bad.

Gideon: Go home, Andrea. Get some extra sleep so you’ll look beautiful for the camera tomorrow - apparently that’s your only talent. Me, I’ve got plenty of work to do, trying to figure out how to train the un-trainable. Looks like we’re going to have to start from scratch if you can’t even manage a convincing kiss.

Andrea: Convincing?!? Let me show you some convincing…

Gideon: I stand corrected.

Gideon: Let’s try that again, but this time I’ll watch to make sure you close your eyes.

Andrea: I have to go.
