Playing Cupid

Kaida: So that’s it. The Grand Tour. Whatcha think?
Kenzo: Same thing I thought when I came in. It’s a really cool place.
Kaida: Yeah. It’s my home away from home right now. And the stage here is so great. I’ve never been in here when it’s so quiet before. I think it’s so cool like this.
Kenzo: Yeah, it really is.

Kaida: There’s just one other place that’s cooler, but I couldn’t show you.
Kenzo: What’s that?
Kaida: The costume “shop.” I’ve only ever gotten a quick peek inside once or twice – the wardrobe lady guards it like it’s Fort Knox or something.
Kenzo: Couldn’t Asher get you inside to look around?

Kaida: He probably could, but I save my favor-asking for real important things. Like would he come over and pick me up, would he come over and drop off the script I “forgot,” would he sit back there where my sister is sitting and see if my voice is projecting, would he unlock the door for me because my sister is waiting….
Kenzo: I get it – you’re playing cupid!
Kaida: Bingo. Things are going real well, too. Might be out of a job soon.

Kenzo: It’s not a role you can get much recognition for, is it? Bet it works better if no one knows you’re playing.
Kaida: That’s for sure. I think Asher and Kohana are on to me now, but things are going so well it doesn’t really matter. So “Cupid” can afford to take a little vacation.

Kenzo: That’s good. Wouldn’t want you to be too busy right now.
Kaida: Heh, heh, heh. Right. At least not with other people!
Kenzo: Right…..OK, Cupid, what’s next?

Kaida: Not sure – let’s just “wing it!”
Kenzo: *snerk*, Not another one!
