Annette: *muttering to herself* I wonder if they got the address right? This doesn’t look at all like I expected……Well, here goes, Annette. Your big “break” interviewing the great romance writer, Dana Sebastian.
*knocks*

Annette: Good afternoon. I’m Annette Applebaum. From the Charleston Herald? I have an appointment to interview Dana Sebastian - is she here?
Guy: I believe so. Please….come in.

Annette: Thank you. *looks around* This is…. nice. Is it all right if I sit over there?
Guy: Sure, that‘ll work. *takes a seat nearby*

Annette: So…. while I am waiting for Ms. Sebastian, perhaps you can tell me something about her.

Annette: What was is like, growing up with a romance novelist mother? She is your mother, I presume? How has this affected your outlook, your personal and career goals?
Guy: I assume you’ve done your research? Enough to know that it’s been barely two years since Dana has been published?

Annette: Ummm, yes, yes. I’ve read the file *taps her briefcase and says under her breath* The cover sheet anyway.
Guy: Then naturally I could not have had many years in which to be influenced at all.

Annette: *scrambling for the file* I suppose…. not…..er….Then perhaps you could tell me how your life has changed – improved - since Dana’s novels have met with such tremendous success?

Guy: It’s a pretty sweet deal for me, actually. I don’t have to do any real work and I never worry about where my next meal is coming from.

Annette: *taken aback by his blatant admission of lazy joblessness* Sweet deal indeed… for you anyway…. But as for Ms. Sebastian…..

Voice from the other room: Dana? Where are you?
Annette: *back to muttering* Exactly what I would like to know.

Andrea: Oh, there you are, Dana. Why didn’t you answer me? Your publisher called and said if you don’t have the first draft of “Temptations of Forbidden Love” on her desk by morning, she’s going to….oh, I didn’t realize you had company.

Annette: *extending her hand* Annette Applebaum. I’ve come on assignment from the Charleston Herald to interview….

Annette: *looks over, very annoyed at Dana*……… Dana Sebastian.
