Bedtime For Mister Frog

Originally posted on January 10, 2009

Sometimes a story just happens, when I least expect it, when I had no intention of doing one. It can be inspired by some small thing that happens, a chance word or conversation, or, as in this case, the receipt of something awfully cute that comes in the mail…..

Pete: “…..and baby lions are called cubs. Sometimes lion cubs wear pink froggie jammies when it’s time for bed and….”
Stevie: Pete! Where it say that?
Pete: All right, all right, so I made that part up.

Pete: Come on now, little person, that was your fourth storybook. Enough procrastination – bedtime for you.
Stevie: What’s crassination?
Pete: What you keep trying to do. You are a world-class procrastinator.

Stevie: Is Mister Frog a ‘crassinator, too?
Pete: Dunno, maybe. No one is as good at it as you though, Shrimp. Come on, now, let’s get you off to…..

Stevie: Mister Frog has to has his nite-nite kisses, Big Cousin.
Pete: Mmmmmph. Okay, Stevie, now it’s your turn for nite-nite kisses. *thinks* and way past time for nite-nite in general….

Stevie: ‘K!!!........... Nite-nite, Mister Frog! *smooch!*
Pete: Uh, aren’t you forgetting something, Stevie?
Stevie: SUPER Stevie!
Pete: Yeah, what you said. So how about one for Big Cousin Pete, huh?

Stevie: *smooch!*

Stevie: Mister Frog says thank you for the stories, Big Cousin.
Pete: Mister Frog is welcome. G’night Sport.
