Kohana: Kaida….
Kaida: Uh-oh I know that tone – Whatever it is, I didn’t DO it!

Kohana: Oh, I’m afraid you did. Kaida, I am really concerned that you would accept a ride with a total stranger like that. No matter how friendly he is, you need to be more careful.
Kaida: Oh you mean Asher? I’ve known him ages and ages, Aneko. He’s a good guy. I talk to him while I wait my turn to audition, stuff like that. There’s a lot of waiting around and I get sooooo…
Kohana: Bored, I know. How could you have known him that long? Those auditions only began a couple weeks ago.

Kaida: Is that all it’s been? Wow, seems longer. But you really don’t have to worry. I’m not stupid - or careless. I don’t understand what you have against Asher anyway…. you couldn’t rush him out of here fast enough.
Kohana: Nothing, I have nothing against him except that he’s a total stranger, and he acts way too “friendly” with YOU. You are a lot younger than he is; it worries me that you are apparently so trusting with a virtual stranger. I mean, what do you really know about him?

Kaida: He’s just someone to talk to, you know? And I know plenty, really. I watch him like I do everyone else around the theater sometimes. He’s nice to everybody, not just me. He’s one of the few people around that theater with half a brain. Aneko, you know I’m not going to do anything stupid, and I’m not going to be tempted to be anything more than friends while I have a great guy like Kenzo around.
Kohana: Well, that’s a bit of a relief. I was hoping you had some good common sense about this. This Asher really doesn’t seem to be a very dependable sort, does he? I mean, he just left his duties in the middle of his work day to drive you home? Does the theater make allowances for that kind of work ethic? Does he drive carefully? Too fast?

Kaida: Oh you are so impossible to please sometimes! It just so happens the theater is his career, not just some hobby he plays around with. He’s the stage manager, so I guess during a break he can leave, being in charge and all. He mostly works other, bigger theaters and well, he’s quite good at what he does and………….HEY, I know what’s got you so defensive!
Kohana: I am NOT defensive, I’m trying to convince you to act sensibly!
Kaida: Hee, hee, I didn’t see it right away but I get it NOW - you’re uncomfortable because you’re attracted to him, aren’t you? You’re like, INTERESTED, aren’t you?

Kohana: Don’t be silly, Kaida, of course I’m not interes….
Kaida: You are! You ARE! I can tell! Oh boy, my brilliant plan worked, and I….Oooops.
Kohana: WHAT! Kaida! Not another of your attempts to manipulate me into meeting someone?... Oh, don’t tell me you FAKED your injury just to get him to come here? That would be low even for YOU, and if you did THAT you would be in SO much trouble…
Kaida: No! I really DID hurt my ankle, but…. well, I also know how to recognize a most excellent opportunity when I see one! Unlike my clueless sister, that is!

Kohana: Well to borrow your word: Sheeeesh! And I am not interested, I’m NOT. Really. I’m not.
