Kaida: Soooo, what happened? When you apologized to Asher?
Kohana: How do you know I did?
Kaida: Oh, I know you – you don’t ever put off stuff like that.
Kohana: Well you’re right, it’s always better to get unpleasantness over with quickly if it can’t be avoided, and you’re right again - I did apologize.

Kaida: And?
Kohana: Well, he very kindly accepted my apology, and I was relieved that he did.
Kaida: And……….???
Kohana: And what? There really was nothing more to it, Kaida. I apologized, he accepted, end of story.

Kaida: Oh. (disappointed) Are you sure he didn’t say anything else?
Kohana: Well he did ask for “permission” to remain on friendly terms with you. For whatever reason, he apparently likes having you around talking his ear off and sticking your nose into his business. I thought it was decent of him to ask, so I could hardly refuse. Although, it’s really up to you I suppose. I keep forgetting you’re old enough to make that kind of decision on your own.

Kaida: Well…thanks! So you trust me? At least a little bit?
Kohana: Oh Kaida, I’ve always trusted you, for the most part. It’s other people I don’t trust. I just can’t seem to stop trying to protect you from making mistakes, so I try to make decisions for you and… well, you’re just going to have to keep reminding me about this little talk when I do that sort of thing, ok?

Kaida: Oh I’ll definitely do THAT. Now, are you SURE he didn’t say anything else?
Kohana: (small smile) I think that’s about it; everything else was just idle chitchat, really.

Kaida: Hey! Don’t DO that to me! I want to hear about the idle chitchat too! Kohana!!!
