Kaida: Oh, I’m bored, bored, bored, bored, BORED!
Kohana: We’ve only been home from the convention a little over a week and you’re already bored?
Kaida: Yup, that’s the trouble with having so much fun all at once. When you come back down to earth, things are just so dull!
Kohana: I’m sure you’ll get caught up in something interesting soon – it never takes long for you.
Kaida: Yeah, I’ve been thinking about…well… trying something new again. Never know what will finally click and be THE thing I want to do forever!
Kohana: (wryly) Are you sure there is something left TO try? You’ve been through dancing, cosmetology, cooking classes, drawing classes, photography classes, all kinds of sports, just about every club available at school, and nothing seems to last long. What are you going to try next?
Kaida: Well, the community theater is having auditions this week…
Kohana: Theater? Oh you ought to do quite well there – acting appears to be something you do quite naturally!
Kaida: Very funny, Aneko.
Kohana: So what are you going to do?
Kaida: Well I suppose I’ll audition and see what happens. Hey, don’t you ever like to try new things? With you it’s all study, study, study….never much of a break. Don’t you EVER get bored with it?
Kohana: Well…. no, not really. If I get bored studying one thing there are always so many other fascinating things to learn about. But I’ve had medicine as my focus for so long I don’t think it’s ever going to change.
Kaida: I hope you know no matter how much I tease you about it, I don’t really think you’re boring, Aneko. We’re just different, that’s all. Sometimes I wish I could be more like you, be satisfied with something and know for sure what I wanted to do.
Kohana: And I sometimes want to be more like YOU – outgoing and interesting and sociable. For the most part I’m quite happy though…. I just wish…. (sigh)
Kaida: Yeah, me too. (bigger sigh)
Kaida: Guess I’ll go email Kenzo. Bet he’s never bored at that crazy place where he lives!
